Calgary is the largest city in Alberta, located near the south end of the province, approximately 80 km east of the Canadian Rockies. In 2006, the city of Calgary had a population of 988,193 making it the third-largest municipality in Canada, so if you want work in a dynamic environment that is still close to recreation benefits like skiing, then Calgary may be the place for you.
Economic activity in Calgary is mostly centered on the petroleum industry, however agriculture, tourism and the high-tech industries also contribute to the city’s economic growth and here are some of the GIS jobs in the Calgary area.
