Assistant/Associate Professor in Geomatics Engineering

The Department of Geomatics Engineering, in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary, invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track), effective September 1, 2012. Applicants must have a PhD in geomatics engineering or equivalent, and have demonstrated research excellence in digital imaging or satellite geodesy. The deadline for the submission of applications is February 29th, 2012.

Locating teaching positions can be pretty difficult, with the job climate the way it is most people are looking to keep their positions, schools are looking for ways to cut the budget, and there isn’t as much movement taking place. But there are alternative options available for teachers.
Online teaching opportunities are opening up all over and online education appears to be the wave of the future. It’s is a great opportunity for younger teachers to get a start. Older professors may not be interested in learning the new system and technologies used in online training, but it’s worth a shot for them as well.
